Terracle, a company specializing in plastic waste processing and recycled raw material production, announced on the 18th that it has successfully secured KRW 10.5 billion (approximately USD 8 million) in Series A funding.
The investment round was led by Envisioning Partners, with participation from DSC Investment, Hyundai Motor Group’s ZER01NE Fund, Korea Development Bank, and Schmidt.
Terracle produces recycled chemical feedstocks such as terephthalic acid (TPA) and ethylene glycol (EG) by chemically recycling plastic and textile waste. TPA is a key chemical material widely used across industries including plastic packaging, textiles, films, engineering plastics, automotive components, and electronic products.
The company has successfully achieved Korea’s first commercial-scale production of high-purity chemically recycled TPA (CR-TPA). Terracle has also demonstrated its technological capabilities through joint research with Hyundai Motor Group’s Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Basic Materials Research Center, conducting pilot studies on the chemical recycling of automotive end-of-life parts.
